How we show deals

Why are total and effective costs shown?

We show the provider’s advertised monthly price alongside any stated upfront cost and the contract total, so it is easier to compare the terms.

Does DealPriceCheck cover the whole UK market?

No. We compare selected providers and do not claim whole-of-market coverage.

Sky Mobile deals at a glance

These are buying shortcuts, not a substitute for the exact plan conditions. The sections below explain which choice actually suits your usage.

Which Sky Mobile SIM-only deal should you choose?

Start with your normal mobile-data usage, not the biggest allowance on sale. Sky's features make a smaller plan useful for some people, but unused gigabytes only have value when you can actually use or redeem them later.

Your typical useData range worth comparingA useful buying test
Mostly Wi-Fi, messaging and occasional mapsSmall allowances, such as 3GB–5GBIs it enough for your busiest ordinary month?
Social apps, music and regular web browsingAround 10GB–25GBWould a slightly larger plan avoid costly top-ups?
Regular video, travel or occasional hotspot useLarger allowances, such as 50GB–75GBWill you use the extra data often, or bank it through Piggybank?
Sustained heavy usage or frequent mobile hotspot useHigh-data or Unlimited optionsIs the higher price justified even without earning Piggybank data?

These are usage guides, not a promise that a particular data tier is always available. Compare the current Sky offer cards above, and check your last three complete billing periods. A plan that covers your busiest routine month is often a better decision than one selected purely for its headline number of gigabytes.

A quick way to choose:

  1. Check O2 coverage where you actually need it.
  2. Pick the smallest realistic allowance and compare its neighbouring options.
  3. Filter the live cards by contract length: rolling if flexibility matters, fixed term if you can make the commitment.
  4. Open Full plan details for promotional renewal rates, minimum-term obligations and any price-change wording.
  5. Select View Deal on the exact Sky card you want. That takes you through the existing tracked buying route; the final Sky checkout terms control the order.

Unsure about your allowance? Use our UK mobile-data usage guide before choosing between a smaller Sky SIM and Unlimited.

Sky Mobile 30-day vs 12- or 24-month SIM-only deals

Compare freedom to leave against the total payment commitment, not two first-month prices. Sky offers rolling options and fixed minimum terms, although the exact 12- or 24-month products available through DealPriceCheck depend on the live partner feed. Do not assume a 12-month Sky promotion advertised elsewhere is available in the cards above.

If no card above offers the contract length you need — for example, a particular 12-month promotion — you can browse Sky’s full SIM-only plan range via our tracked partner link. For any deal listed here, use that card’s View Deal instead, so you can compare the exact offer before leaving DealPriceCheck.

What if the Sky deal becomes more expensive later?

Check whether the advertised price is a starting price or the price for the full term. A promotion can offer one rate for the first part of a 24-month contract and a higher rate for the remaining months. Sky also allows certain prices to change during the contract under its applicable terms.

For example, imagine a hypothetical 24-month SIM priced at £8 for the first 12 months and £12 for the next 12. Its scheduled cost would be £240 (12 × £8 + 12 × £12), not the £192 obtained by multiplying the starting £8 by 24. That calculation excludes any additional contractual variation. It is a worked example, not a current Sky tariff.

The same issue occurs with introductory 30-day deals: an initial payment can be lower than subsequent renewals. For example, a hypothetical rolling SIM costing £11 for the first billing period and £13 for each of the next five costs £76 over six billing periods, not £66.

Check the complete schedule for the exact offer. A headline monthly rate multiplied by the full term may exclude scheduled promotional step-ups or other contractual changes. If a live card's minimum contract cost does not match its checkout schedule, do not assume the card total is correct; use the contract summary before committing. A rolling plan also has its own cancellation and billing rules, rather than a guaranteed one-month-only purchase.

Is Sky Mix the same as a flexible contract?

No. Sky Mix lets eligible customers change the data allowance. An increase can take effect sooner than a reduction, which may begin on the next billing date. But changing the allowance does not necessarily cancel a 12- or 24-month obligation. Certain discounted offers also end if you Mix to a different data plan, so a nominally cheaper allowance may no longer carry the same promotion.

If you might leave the network soon, compare the 30-day options in the existing deal list instead of buying a long-term discount and relying on Mix to undo it.

Is Sky Mobile's Piggybank worth choosing a smaller plan for?

Sky Piggybank collects unused data from eligible finite-allowance plans. Instead of the unused allowance simply disappearing at the end of the billing period, eligible data enters a shared account balance. Sky says eligible saved data can be kept for up to 12 months, withdrawn later in whole 1GB increments, shared across eligible SIMs on the same account or exchanged for available rewards.

A realistic example: you choose a finite 20GB allowance, use 12GB and bank 8GB. During a busier subsequent month, you can use 5GB from Piggybank to supplement the new month's allowance, if that balance remains available. The benefit is avoiding an unnecessary permanent upgrade or occasional add-on — not receiving cash for every unused gigabyte.

There are three important limits:

For someone with uneven monthly use, this may favour a moderately sized Sky SIM over a larger one. But banking data is not a saving until you actually use or redeem it: paying £3 more each billing period solely to accumulate unused GB would cost £36 over 12 payments, even if none of those saved gigabytes helps you. That £3 is an illustrative comparison, not a current Sky price.

If you consistently use every gigabyte, Piggybank may add little value. For Sky's actual expiry and withdrawal rules, read the official Sky Piggybank help through our Awin partner link; this opens a help page, not a SIM checkout. Our comparison of UK data rollover SIMs explains why Sky's longer-lived bank differs from one-month rollover elsewhere.

Sky Mobile Unlimited SIM-only deals: when do they make sense?

An Unlimited SIM can be useful when you regularly stream, use a phone as a hotspot or have highly unpredictable data demand. It is usually unnecessary if your mobile-data history sits comfortably within a smaller allowance. Before picking Unlimited, compare the total scheduled cost, the minimum term and the applicable fair-use policy.

Sky's Unlimited proposition should be assessed on its own price and conditions: it does not earn unused data for Sky Piggybank. You also do not automatically get free roaming just because your UK data allowance is unlimited. If your needs are often below your allowance, compare the largest appropriate finite-data Sky card against Unlimited instead of assuming the latter is always safer.

If you are deciding whether high-data is enough, compare the relevant options in our UK SIM-only catalogue rather than assuming Unlimited is the only practical choice.

Does Sky Mobile include 5G and eSIM?

Sky Mobile runs on O2's network. Eligible Sky customers can use 4G and 5G where available, subject to device compatibility and account settings. Standard Sky 5G is available without a separate paid 5G upgrade, but Sky describes a free 5G Network add-on that must be enabled for a compatible device. A 5G phone on Sky will still use 4G when 5G is unavailable.

Sky also supports eSIM on compatible devices and eligible accounts. An eSIM replaces a physical SIM card digitally; it does not improve signal strength, increase your allowance or turn a 4G-only phone into a 5G phone. Confirm that the specific phone and selected Sky plan can be activated as an eSIM before ordering. Sky's newer 5G+ technology has additional device, eSIM and coverage requirements beyond normal 5G, so do not assume every Sky eSIM supports 5G+.

Coverage matters more than a national marketing figure. Check O2 at your home, workplace and other places you use mobile data, including indoor signal. Ofcom's Map Your Mobile postcode checker is a useful independent starting point; its predictions cannot guarantee your reception in a specific room or at rush hour.

Already happy with O2 coverage? Sky may let you keep access to the same underlying network while gaining different data features. See which UK providers use O2's network for the distinction between infrastructure and plan benefits.

What is Sky Watch, and can it reduce your data bill?

Sky Watch can keep eligible streaming through selected Sky apps in the UK from counting against your usual mobile-data allowance. This is particularly useful to people who regularly use qualifying Sky Go or Sky Sports content on the move. It does not include a free subscription to paid Sky TV content, and it does not make YouTube, Netflix, Spotify or other unrelated apps data-free.

Sky's conditions make a difference when deciding whether a smaller bundle is enough:

If you often stream Sky apps, Watch could let you buy a smaller data allowance and keep a cushion for everything else. If your viewing is mostly on third-party apps, judge Sky's SIM by its ordinary data allowance instead.

Is roaming included with Sky Mobile deals?

Do not assume free EU roaming is included in a standard Sky SIM-only deal. Sky's Roaming Passport Plus charges for qualifying use in many supported destinations, generally on a 24-hour pass basis. Sky's published pass price on 23 October 2026 was £2 per qualifying 24 hours; the advertised roaming data fair-use allowance was 25GB per billing cycle, with further usage potentially charged separately. Check the current fee, destination list, spend cap, fair-use rules and personal eligibility before travelling. The Republic of Ireland has a different treatment, and qualifying Sky VIP Diamond customers may receive free roaming benefits.

A daily roaming charge can outweigh a small UK price saving when you travel regularly. For example, at the documented £2 rate, qualifying usage on seven different days would add £14; this is an illustration, not a charge for simply being abroad, and personal entitlements may change the result. Where no chargeable usage occurs, the pass may not activate. Compare expected travel costs with the options in our SIM-only deals for EU roaming guide.

Can you switch to a Sky SIM-only deal and keep your number?

Yes. You can keep an existing UK mobile number when moving to Sky. The core steps are:

  1. Choose your Sky deal from the live cards above and check its full contract summary.
  2. From your current network, text PAC to 65075 to request the number-transfer code.
  3. Activate your new Sky SIM or eSIM as instructed and give the PAC to Sky.
  4. Keep the old service active until the transfer takes place; the switch normally closes the old service.
  5. Test incoming calls, texts and mobile data after the number moves.

If you want to leave your old number behind, the alternative is STAC to 75075. Requesting a switching code does not erase any early-exit amount owed on your existing contract. Sky's pay-monthly SIM applications may involve a status and credit check, including for some rolling offers.

For the complete switching process, including temporary numbers and when not to cancel your old SIM, read how to switch networks and keep your number.

Sky Mobile deals: frequently asked questions

Which network does Sky Mobile use?

Sky Mobile uses O2's UK mobile network. Check O2's local 4G/5G coverage before choosing a Sky plan; the underlying network does not make every O2-based provider's pricing or benefits identical.

What is the cheapest Sky Mobile SIM-only deal?

The cheapest deal depends on the live promotions and your preferred contract term. Sort the Sky cards above by price, then check the later recurring rate and minimum term. The lowest initial monthly figure is not necessarily the lowest total cost.

Does Sky Mobile offer 30-day SIM-only deals?

Yes. Sky markets rolling SIMs alongside longer commitments. A rolling subscription can renew automatically, and Sky describes a 30-day cancellation notice. Check the exact first payment, subsequent rate and billing date before ordering.

Is Sky Mobile Unlimited really unlimited?

Sky offers Unlimited UK data subject to its applicable fair-use and service terms. It is not the same as unlimited roaming, and Unlimited plans do not accumulate Piggybank data. Read the exact live card and checkout terms before purchase.

Does Sky Mobile include free data rollover?

Sky Piggybank is available with eligible finite-data plans. Unused qualifying data can be saved for up to 12 months, subject to redemption and account rules. Unlimited Data does not earn Piggybank data.

Can I get a Sky Mobile eSIM with 5G?

Yes, if your phone, account and selected Sky service are compatible. Ordinary 5G also needs coverage and Sky's free 5G Network add-on. eSIM availability and the newer 5G+ feature have separate eligibility requirements.

Can Sky Mobile increase its SIM-only prices during a contract?

It can under applicable terms. Some Sky promotions also have a scheduled rate change after an introductory period. Before ordering, check both the scheduled payment sequence and the contract's price-change and cancellation clauses. These are different from a voluntary change of allowance through Sky Mix.

Is Sky Mobile better if you already have Sky TV?

Potentially. People who already watch qualifying Sky content on the move may get more value from Sky Watch; households with multiple eligible Sky Mobile SIMs may benefit from shared Piggybank. But owning Sky TV does not automatically make a Sky SIM the cheapest choice or grant free roaming.

Compare Sky Mobile SIM-only deals and choose your plan

A suitable Sky deal combines working O2 reception, enough data for normal use and a contract whose full payment schedule suits your plans. Piggybank rewards people who genuinely reuse saved data; Sky Watch is useful to qualifying viewers; a rolling term helps when flexibility matters. None of these makes a poor signal or an unexpectedly expensive long commitment worth accepting.

Return to the current Sky Mobile deals above, select the data and contract length you want, open Full plan details, and use that card's View Deal to continue to the tracked Sky offer. If Sky’s checkout shows a later monthly price or minimum commitment that conflicts with our card, do not rely on the card total: confirm the exact offer and payment schedule before placing the order.
